Research on the Design and Application of Rural Houses in Northern China Based on Energy-saving Retrofit Technology

The poor thermal performance of rural buildings and the severe pollution caused by coal combustion in northern China are urgent problems that need to be addressed. To solve these two issues, current status building envelopes houses commonly used heating methods households were analyzed. study found most lack insulation measures their require energy-saving renovations. improve houses, a household’s envelope was measured renovations conducted. measurement results showed heat transfer coefficients walls, windows, roofs decreased 72.7%, 61.59%, 64.99%, respectively, after renovations, compared national limit values. all components met requirements actual statistics 66.74% reduction biomass fuel consumption per unit temperature difference indicating significant improvement energy efficiency.
